The "Old Master" backdrops are painted to provide a background that one would see in an old Master's painting (DaVinci, Rembrandt, Vermeer, etc.).  As you can see the middle is often highlighted.  This can be done with lighting or some of the backdrops will come painted with a highlight. 

Each Old Master backdrop is painted with a special layering technique to provide a background that one would see in an old Master's painting.   Unlike thin muslin backdrops, each of our Old Master backdrops has a thick, durable canvas texture.  The paints we use still allow for flexibility and movement without the fear of cracking.
