Frequently Asked Questions
We accept credit cards through Paypal, Paypal checks and funds, personel checks, cash (in person), money orders, cashier checks and credit cards through 2Checkout. However, their invoicing is kind of quirky so we prefer to send an invoice should you choose them as your payment gateway. Just send us an email with what you would like to buy and we will send a 2Checkout invoice to you.
For new buyers, signing up for a PayPal account is now optional. This means you can complete your payments first, and then decide whether to save your information in a PayPal account for future purchases. You are doing the same thing you would do for any other payment gateway you will find at other sites.
Here’s how this easy checkout works:
- You enter your name and shipping address.
- You are prompted for your credit card, email address, and phone number.
- (Optional) After reviewing your information, you may choose to save your information by creating a PayPal account to make future transactions faster.

Dyed, Designer, Classic and Natural backdrops consist of the fabric with either a dye for coloring, or small amounts of paint which add no measurable weight to the final product. The painted Canvas Textured backdrops have been layered with many coats of paint, are rolled and shipped in a tube which adds considerable weight and thus added cost to shipping.
Only if you live in a monitor (lol)! We try to get the colors and tones in the pictures as accurate as possible. But due to monitor calibrations, the use of different browsers and the given lighting in your studio, colors may vary slightly. We do provide a list of colors used to paint the backdrop to give you an even better idea of what you are looking at. We will eventually calibrate our monitor to RGB using Adobe Photoshop, but I really need to read the “Photoshop for Dummies” section on this. One of these days…....
All In Stock Specials ships with 48 hours of payment clearing.
Please be aware that because of the nature of custom orders (Special Orders) they are likely to take longer than a regular order. Several factors must be considered such as size, previous experience with the scene/style and unfamiliarity with painting technique. Generally, Special Orders take 14-20 days and you will be emailed with a picture of your new backdrop once completed for your OK before shipping.
The dyed, natural, designer and classic muslin backdrops can be folded or just balled up into a bag. We suggest that the painted canvas textured backdrops be rolled up and stored in their appropriate sized shipping tubes to prevent creasing.
The painted canvas textured backdrops may be sponge cleaned with a mild detergent, if needed. Do not rub too vigorously or you may get some slight fading of paint in that area.
The naturals may be machine-washed and will lose some sizing due to shrinkage (like any normal cotton material). You may reduce this by washing in cold water and tumble in dryer until it is slightly damp.
The dyed backdrops may be machine-washed. Make sure to set washer on cold and add a cup of vinegar to keep the colors set in. DO NOT wash with any other fabric. The dyed muslins have already been washed and dried so there should be little shrinking, if any.
Yes, water will not make the colors run, stain or make the paint (on all Classic Muslin and Canvas Textured backdrops) fade.
Canvas Textured Backdrops:
If you store your new Canvas Textured backdrop in the shipping tube provided, you should not experience any wrinkles and your backdrop will remain wrinkle FREE.
Should you accidentally fold the backdrop for an extended period of time, you may experience creasing in the backdrop. If this happens, the best way to get out wrinkles (creases) is to mist with water and the fibers will relax. The colors may seem to lighten on the sprayed areas, but they will return to normal once they have dried. Experiment with light to heavy misting to see what works best. Once dried roll it up to prevent further wrinkles.
If wrinkles (creases) are very stubborn, spray with water and allowed to dry. Once dried roll it up to prevent further wrinkles. You should always roll up your new backdrop for storages to prevent wrinkles and creases.
The Canvas Textured backdrops may also be steamed. Try steaming in an inconspicuous area first; if paint does not seem to be harmed, you may steam the rest of the backdrop.
Natural & Classic Muslins:
The Natural Muslins, Designer Muslins, Classic Muslin and dyed backdrops may be ironed as any other fabric or mist with water and throw in the dryer or hang flat to dry.
We have found, from experience, that trying to hang a canvas textured backdrop through a rod pocket is much more difficult than using clamps. However, a rod pocket is very useful for the dyed, natural, designer and classic muslin backdrops for effects such as draping or gathering. With this in mind, each of our Natural, White, Black and Designer Muslins are included with rod pockets upon request.
The dyed backdrops are, of course, dyed. This allows them to retain the same characteristics as before they were dyed. They may be draped and gathered or hung flat from the backdrop stand. The Textured Canvas backdrops have the quality of canvas and are coated with paint. They are stiff and meant to hang flat and crisp. Each Old Master is individually hand painted with a layering technique, rolled and shipped in an appropriate sized tube. Each Classic Muslin backdrop is individually hand painted and have the characteristics of muslin.
